I’m FM Victor Neustroev
I'm a chess player and coach.
I won multiple regional competition and received various awards. I have coached for many years and have had highly successful students. I see my mission in teaching chess, conducting interactive chess events and making my students overall much better players.
Online Chess Courses
I’ve been creating and recording chess courses since 2016. You can find them here and some popular chess websites such as Thechessworld and Chessable.
I do courses for all levels up to 2300 Elo. My courses can be divided into 4 categories:
- Openings (where I explain a certain opening in details or cover the basis a few competitive openings)
- Endgames (in these courses I teach to play endgames what gives my students extra advantage when the game comes to the end)
- Tactics (I not only explain the tactical motifs, but also teach students to recognize them. It makes their calculation process easier. They know what to look for in certain types of positions)
- Strategy (If there is no tactical play in the position, choosing a proper plan can decide the outcome of the game)
Online Individual & Group Chess Lessons
I offer individual and group coaching. Usually the lesson consists of 4 parts:
- Analyzing games
- Solving puzzles (with hints)
- Learning openings
- Improving the ability to play positionally
The procedure is that I share the board so we both (student and I) are able to make moves and see them.
Before making a teaching plan I usually analyze my student’s games. I find out what your strong and weak sides are and then we work on it. As for the homework, usually I ask to solve puzzles from the books I provide, play a few long games or learn the lines that we covered during the lesson.
I also conduct free webinars for my students every week.
Online Chess Tournaments
Every 3 months I conduct online chess tournaments what is a good chance to get more practice for students who don’t have enough time to participate in OTB tournaments.
This is our Playing Procedure: I make pairings and publish them on our Facebook page. During the week players’ task is to negotiate with the opponent, schedule the game and play it on lichess.org or chess.com with 45'+30" time control. All games are subjects for anti-cheating control.
After the tournament every player will get personal recommendations about what to improve and how.
