Dear Chess Friends!
⠀
Time management is really important during the game. Most of the players, including me, struggle with time instead of moves. So, here are some tips that will help you to manage your time:
⠀
- Be familiar with the opening you play
⠀
If you know the opening, you should play these moves fast. If the position is deferent, then it is better to stop and think.
⠀
- Spend the half of the time for the first 15 moves, and 2/3 of the game to the first 20 moves.
⠀
If you have 1 hour for a game, you have to spend 30 minutes on the first 15 moves, as well as you should spend 40 minutes for 20 moves.
⠀
- Last five minutes are important!
⠀
In last 5 minutes play the fastest you can, avoid calculating lines, especially deep ones and lie on your intuition.
⠀
- It is better to play several average moves than spend all your time and play one strong move.
⠀
If you play only one excellent move, you are likely to get into time trouble and it will lead you to even more mistakes.
